Top Camping UK at Station Farm – SkipFest Weekend
Join Top Camping UK for a fantastic summer camping weekend at Station Farm, near Market Rasen, combining the freedom of the great outdoors with a full day of live music at SkipFest.
Taking place in the peaceful Lincolnshire countryside, this special weekend offers much more than an ordinary camping break. Guests can enjoy a relaxed stay at Station Farm before heading next door to The Skipworth Arms for one of the area’s popular annual music events.
A Weekend of Camping and Live Music
Station Farm provides a spacious and welcoming base for tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes. Its countryside setting offers plenty of room to settle in, meet fellow campers and enjoy the friendly atmosphere for which Top Camping UK events are known.
The highlight of the weekend will be SkipFest, taking place at The Skipworth Arms on Saturday 18 July. The festival is scheduled to run from 11am until 11pm, providing twelve hours of music and entertainment just a short walk from the camping field.
With the festival taking place next door, there is no need to arrange taxis, nominate a driver or travel any significant distance. Guests can leave their vehicles safely at the campsite and enjoy the event on foot, returning to their tent, caravan or motorhome at the end of the evening.
Saturday at SkipFest
Saturday will be all about live music, good company and a lively festival atmosphere. From late morning through to the evening, SkipFest will provide the soundtrack to the weekend as visitors gather at The Skipworth Arms to enjoy the performances.
Whether you plan to spend the entire day at the festival or move between the campsite and the pub, everything is conveniently located within the same immediate area. Campers can take the day at their own pace, returning to their pitch whenever they would like a break before heading back to enjoy more of the entertainment.
The combination of an outdoor music festival and a nearby campsite makes this an ideal weekend for couples, groups of friends and anyone who enjoys live entertainment without the inconvenience of travelling home afterwards.
More Than Just the Festival
Away from the music, the weekend is also an opportunity to enjoy the surroundings of Station Farm and the Lincolnshire countryside. Guests can relax around their pitches, socialise with other campers or explore the quiet lanes and rural scenery surrounding the venue.
The site is positioned close to the Lincolnshire Wolds, with Market Rasen, Caistor, Grimsby and Cleethorpes all within reach. Those extending their stay may wish to visit the coast, explore the local market towns or simply enjoy a peaceful drive through the countryside.
Cleethorpes offers a traditional seaside day out with its beach, promenade, amusements and fish and chip shops, while nearby Grimsby provides an opportunity to discover the area’s proud fishing and maritime heritage.
A Relaxed and Sociable Camping Experience
Top Camping UK weekends are about more than simply finding somewhere to pitch. They are an opportunity to meet like-minded people, enjoy a welcoming group atmosphere and make new memories.
During the weekend, guests will be able to enjoy the independence of their own camping accommodation while still being part of a sociable event. Caravan and Camping at Station Farm
Station Farm provides a welcoming countryside setting for the Top Camping UK Caravan & Camping event. Situated at Moortown, near Market Rasen, the venue enjoys a peaceful rural location on the edge of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds.
The established, family-run campsite has a spacious and well-maintained camping field suitable for tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes. On-site facilities include electric hook-up points, drinking water, toilets, showers and waste-disposal facilities, helping visitors enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay.
Surrounded by open countryside, Station Farm is a great destination for anyone looking to escape the everyday routine and spend time outdoors. The venue is also conveniently positioned for exploring some of the best-known towns, coastal resorts and visitor attractions in northern Lincolnshire.
Explore the Lincolnshire Wolds
Station Farm sits close to the Lincolnshire Wolds, an attractive landscape of rolling hills, quiet country lanes, woodland and traditional villages. The area is ideal for walking, cycling, scenic drives and leisurely visits to welcoming country pubs and cafés.
The long-distance Viking Way passes through this part of Lincolnshire, including the nearby town of Caistor. Visitors do not need to tackle the entire route, as there are plenty of shorter paths and circular walks offering an enjoyable way to experience the countryside.
Caistor is only a short drive from the campsite. This historic town has Roman origins and is home to independent businesses, places to eat and the Caistor Arts and Heritage Centre. Market Rasen is also within easy reach, offering useful shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. The town is perhaps best known for Market Rasen Racecourse, which hosts racing and entertainment throughout the year.
A Day Beside the Sea in Cleethorpes
The traditional seaside resort of Cleethorpes is approximately half an hour away by car, making it an excellent choice for a day away from the campsite.
Visitors can enjoy a walk along the promenade, spend time on the sandy beach or take in the views across the Humber Estuary. The central seafront has all the ingredients of a classic British seaside day out, including amusement arcades, crazy golf, bowling and plenty of opportunities to enjoy fish and chips.
Families may also enjoy a trip on the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway, one of Britain’s oldest seaside miniature railways. Steam and diesel trains travel along the coast, providing an enjoyable way to see more of the resort.
Away from the busier promenade, the beach, sand dunes, saltmarsh and mudflats around Cleethorpes form an internationally important habitat for wildlife. The area is particularly popular with birdwatchers, especially during the spring and autumn migration periods.
Discover Grimsby’s Maritime Heritage
The historic port town of Grimsby is also within easy travelling distance. Once home to one of the world’s largest fishing fleets, the town has a proud maritime history that continues to shape its character.
The Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre is one of the area’s leading visitor attractions. Its recreated streets, workshops and preserved trawler interiors transport visitors back to the height of Grimsby’s fishing industry during the 1950s. It provides a fascinating insight into life at sea and the challenging conditions faced by the people who worked aboard the town’s fishing vessels.
Grimsby also offers shopping, restaurants, cafés and access to the town’s historic dock area. Its close proximity to Cleethorpes makes it easy to combine both destinations in a single day.
Family Attractions and Days Out
Families staying at Station Farm will find several attractions nearby. Hall Farm Park at South Kelsey offers friendly animals, indoor and outdoor play areas and family activities in a rural setting. Wild Pines Park, near Market Rasen, provides woodland adventures and high-rope activities for visitors looking for something more energetic.
The Georgian market town of Louth is another enjoyable destination, with independent shops, markets, cafés and restaurants. For a longer day out, visitors can travel to the historic city of Lincoln to explore the magnificent cathedral, medieval castle and cobbled streets of the Cathedral Quarter.
Whether you prefer countryside walks, family attractions, historic towns or a traditional day beside the sea, Station Farm provides a convenient base from which to experience the varied landscapes and attractions of Lincolnshire.
