Wine from the heart

Yorkshire Heart Vineyard produces wines from grapes grown at our vineyard at Nun Monkton, between York and Harrogate. Our vines are nurtured throughout the year by our passionate team, then handpicked during our Autumn harvest by a wonderful team of volunteers and friends.

The grapes are processed on–site in our winery, overseen by chief winemaker Gillian Spakouskas who carefully monitors the wines during a 12-month fermentation and maturation period. They are then stabilised before filtering, bottling, labelling and packing in-house.

From grape to glass, everything is done on site.

We are immensely proud of our business that creates fine artisan Yorkshire products by our very hard–working team. Through their dedication and passion, we are able to create unique and beautiful tasting reds, whites, rosés and sparkling wines.

Yorkshire Heart Brewery was established in 2011 at Nun Monkton, near York. Our twelve-barrel plant and bottling line is situated just up the road from the Yorkshire Heart vineyard, managed by Tim Spakouskas.

The brewery has gone from strength to strength since it was established, with a fantastic team who are passionate about producing quality, easy drinking craft beers. We only use the best malts and hops from reputable suppliers from Yorkshire.

All our award-winning beers are available to purchase in cask, polypins and bottles.

Did You Know?

Yorkshire Heart Brewery creates craft beers from water pumped from our very own natural spring. Using the water from the very earth beneath the brewery means Yorkshire Heart beers have their own unique Yorkshire flavour!

Yorkshire Heart is an award-winning family run vineyard and brewery based at Nun Monkton in the heart of Yorkshire. The vineyard, near York, started as a hobby for chief winemaker Gillian in 2000 with 35 vines. Now the Spakouskas family lovingly nurture 25,000 vines all year round, producing fine English wine from grape to glass on-site in their winery.

The vineyard is cared for by incredibly passionate and friendly people! The team is headed up by Gillian and husband Chris, son Tim and wife Georgina, plus a wonderful team of staff who dedicate their time to producing drinks loved and enjoyed by many.

In 2011, Yorkshire Heart established a micro-brewery producing craft ales, pilsners and stouts. The brewery is managed by Tim Spakouskas, son of Yorkshire Heart founders Chris and Gillian. With a huge range of beer flavours to suit every taste and preference, Yorkshire Heart Brewery has become widely known and loved by beer drinkers, bars and restaurants across the region.
